The Oakland Raiders have released Tyler Wilson to create a roster spot to activate left tackle Jared Veldheer.

Wilson has been cut four times this season.

Wilson was a fourth round pick and was beaten out in training camp by Matt McGloin. 

Jay Cutler wants to remain with the Chicago Bears as he faces free agency.

Cutler is even open to having the Bears place the franchise tag on him.

"I would like to stay in Chicago," said Cutler on Monday. "I'd be surprised if they kind of broke up the group that we have on offense. I want to stay here ... The longer that we can stay together as a group, the better we're gonna be."

Cutler is still out with an ankle injury.

"If they want to franchise me, I'm gonna feel good about the situation we're in," he said. "We're gonna be in our second year of the offense with these guys. We're gonna be better (and) I'm gonna be better, so it's not personal. It's business."

The Seattle Seahawks have reached out to Antoine Winfield about coming out of retirement to return to the team.

The Seahawks will be without Walter Thurmond for a four-game suspension, while Brandon Browner is out with a groin injury.

The Indianapolis Colts have signed Chris Rainey.

Rainey was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers after a domestic dispute.

Rainey struggled at running back and the Colts will presumably use him as a returner.

The Tennessee Titans have signed John Skelton.

Skelton was most recently with the San Francisco 49ers

The Titans are without Jake Locker for the rest of the season.

Matt Flynn has returned to the Green Bay Packers, but is not thinking about whether he will remain beyond the end of the season.

"I don't think people are really thinking to next year or anything like that," Flynn said. "I know I'm here now. I'll do the best I can." 

Flynn has played for the Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills since leaving the Packers after the 2011 season.

Flynn will actually make $294,411 from the Packers if he remains on the roster for the rest of the regular season. 

The New York Jets and Ed Reed have agreed to a deal.

Reed was released by the Houston Texans earlier this week.

Reed is a future Hall of Famer at safety.

The New England Patriots also expressed interest in Reed.

Rex Ryan coached Reed during their time together with the Baltimore Ravens.

"The big picture of right now, the current football team, I'm probably not the right guy to make all those decisions," Ryan said. "I think sometimes there's a comfort level in knowing guys, without question, guys that certainly played well for you. ... I'd like those guys, without question." 

Kyle Williams has been claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Williams was released by the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.

Williams was a teammate of Alex Smith with the 49ers.

The Houston Texans have released Ed Reed.

Reed signed with the Texans this offseason after a long career with the Baltimore Ravens.

Reed is contemplating retirement.
